Genital Herpes Cold Sores
Genital herpes cold sores, oral herpes, vaginal wart and condyloma are all transmitted through skin-to-skin contacts.
The virus must come in contact with mucosal cells or abraded skin to begin replication and infection. The virus generally does not infect the dead, keratinized cells in the epidermis. The virus is transmitted during close personal contact through the exchange of saliva, semen, cervical fluid, or vesicle fluid from active lesions.
Genital herpes cold sores, oral herpes, vaginal wart and condyloma are all transmitted through skin-to-skin contacts.

However, women tend to have more severe disease and higher rates of complications than the males. The first outbreak of the virus is more painful and lasts longer than recurrent genital herpes outbreaks in both men and women. Women are approximately 4 times more likely to acquire a simplex virus type 2 infection than men. Genital herpes cold sores, oral herpes, vaginal wart and condyloma are all transmitted through skin-to-skin contacts.
