Oral To Genital Herpes
The transmission of oral to genital herpes can happen, but cryotherapy is not an optional treatment for herpes.
The risk of passing HSV from mother to a child is greatest if there is an outbreak of the virus symptoms at the time of the delivery. Outbreaks earlier in the pregnancy are usually of little consequence. That’s why a woman should tell the doctor if there have been such symptoms or infection.

The HSV may be passed from an infected woman with to her child at birth. This is a serious and potentially fatal condition for the newborn infant. Thus in Australia there is approximately 1 in every 15,000 to 20,000 live births. The transmission of oral to genital herpes can happen, but cryotherapy is not an optional treatment for herpes.
