There is no effective herpes medicine; if the results of colposcopy show genital herpes, the patient can only take antiviral drugs to lessen the pain.
However, severe cases may result in brain damage and nervous system disturbances. In most cases, the symptoms occur a few times a year and disappear without any treatment. A very common condition, it is caused by viruses that lead to lesions on the face or genitals.
